Centered around a robust 450 WN dredge pump, the vessel is powered by a Cummins main engine delivering 1,193 kW , paired with a 373 kW Cummins auxiliary engine to support full-time continuous operations.
The dredger achieves a clear-water flow rate of 4,000–4,200 m³/h. It reaches a maximum dredging depth of 14 m and a single‑stage discharge distance of up to 2,600 m. Booster pump stations can be integrated for extended‑pipeline projects when longer transport distances are required. Constructed from marine-grade steel plate, the hull measures 43.5 m in overall length, 8.08 m in breadth, with a moulded depth of 2.2 m and working draft of 1.4 m.
Operational functions are managed via a Siemens PLC monitoring and control system. Full-hydraulic drive covers the cutter head, spud poles, and working winches for reliable site performance. Auxiliary power is supplied by a 30 kW silent generating set with a Weichai engine and Marathon alternator, while an additional 30 kW shaft generator provides on-board power supply.
The YS‑5514 targets mid‑scale inland projects, including river sand extraction, reservoir desilting, and land reclamation, where consistent production output is critical. Customization is available to match actual site conditions: clients may adjust pump specifications, discharge pipeline layout, and cutter‑head configurations for harder soil conditions.
