Performance characteristics of Cutter Suction Dredger
(1) Widely used. It can operate in rivers, lakes and seas for dredging, channel excavation and hydraulic reclamation. Under special circumstances, the cutter suction dredger is equipped with high-power cutter equipment, which can excavate rock strata such as basalt and limestone without blasting.
(2) High working efficiency, large output and long pump distance. Large cutter suction dredgers can produce thousands of cubic meters per hour; Sediment or crushed rock materials are sent thousands of meters away through mud pump and mud discharge pipeline by strong power.
(3) Simple operation and easy control. The dredger relies on the trolley at the stern to position and step the steel pile, uses the two measuring steel cables of the cutter boom and the anchor fixed to the two measuring of the trenching, is pulled by the winch, the two compartments swing to cut the sediment materials, works under a certain controlled swing angle, and pumps the twisted materials to the stacking yard through the sludge pipe. The stepping of the dredger consists of two piles moving alternately and moving forward.
(4) The large cutter suction dredger is equipped with self-propelled system, which can be self-propelled in place during migration. Most small and medium-sized dredgers have no self-propelled system and are towed by tugs. Small and medium-sized dredgers can be designed and built into assembly type, transported to the site by land, and can be used after assembly.
(5) Low cost. The excavation and transportation of materials are completed at one time without the cooperation of other ships. It is transported several times, which is relatively low in engineering cost.
